Carroll County Schools recognized its March 2016 Apple Award Winner at the board meeting on March 17, 2016. Receiving the award for Food Service Employee of the Month was Ms. Lydia Prather, School Nutrition Manager at Bay Springs Middle School. Ms. Prather was nominated by several of her colleagues stating her caring and concern for students and adults never falters. When needed, Mrs. Prather jumps right in without hesitation or complaint to ensure staff and students are not missing any nutritious meals. Since Ms. Prather accepted the manager position, she has worked diligently to increase breakfast and lunch participation. She greets everyone with a pleasant attitude and humble spirit and strives for excellence in school nutrition and customer service. She is indeed an asset to Bay Springs Middle School and the Carroll County School System. Ms. Prather was honored with the system Apple Award plaque, a goody bag and a plant from Mountain Oak Florist, a business partner for Carroll County Schools.
