Central High School Literary Team 2016 Region Champions

Central High School’s Literary Team took the Region Championship title by earning nearly 20 points more than the next competing region team. Literary competition is part of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA), and consists of speaking, interpretation, choral, and vocal events.

Central High School students earned 1st place awards in six (6) different categories; the most in school history. First place awards were given to Daniel Moye for dramatic interpretation, Brant Entrekin for domestic extemporaneous speaking, Anya Dunn for argumentative essay, Amelia Farmer for rhetorical essay, Carolina Butler for personal essay, and for the quartet consisting of Will Godbee, Joshawa Arnell, Caleb Williams, and Elijah Green.

Earning a 2nd place finish was Daniel Moye for international extemporaneous speaking and Thalia Reyes in girls solo. Will Henderson was awarded a 4th place finish for humorous interpretation.

Central High School literary coaches are English teacher Mr. Jamie Biddle and chorus teacher Ms. Sydney Sewell.
