Mt. Zion Elementary Teachers Receive the Alice Huffard Richards Grant

Two teachers from Mt. Zion Elementary received the Alice Huffard Richards Grant. Mrs. Melissa Trippe and Mrs. Ginny Edwards were two of only five teachers in West Georgia that received $5,000 each.

The Teacher Leadership Fellowship was established in memory of Alice Huffard Richards by her family, to honor her legacy. The Fellowship Award's purpose is to promote and support teachers' professional development and provide depth in creative learning opportunities for teachers that also strengthen their leadership skills personally, professionally and as a citizen. In doing so, the fellowships are intended to enhance teaching excellence and the leadership capacity within Carrollton City, Bremen City and Carroll, Haralson and Heard County schools.
