Villa Rica Lady Wildcats Won Region 5AAAAA Championship

The Villa Rica Lady Wildcats won the Region 5AAAAA Championship Saturday night with an exciting 49 to 48 last second victory over the Hiram Lady Hornets. Coach Mitchell stated, "This is a huge and exciting win for our Villa Rica family. The administration, fellow coaches, teachers, students, parents, everyone throughout Villa Rica supported and encouraged us throughout the season. We needed that support and more to win against a remarkable Hiram Hornets basketball team, and we will need that support as we advance to the state playoffs. We say this all the time: We Are VR!".

With the win, Villa Rica will host the first round of the state playoffs Tuesday against Winder Barrow. Winder Barrow is the fourth seed from region 8AAAAA.
