2015 Apple Award Winner For Paraprofessional of the Month

Carroll County Schools recognized its January 2016 Apple Award Winner at the board meeting on January 14, 2016. Receiving the award for Paraprofessional of the Month was Ms. Amy Musick, Paraprofessional from Central Elementary School. Ms. Musick works primarily with students who are wheelchair-bound who have physical and medical limitations but she does not allow these limitations to impact their growth toward independence. Ms. Musick motivates and encourages her students to try no matter how difficult the task. She only intervenes when it is absolutely necessary. Ms. Musick also advocates for her students whenever she feels that someone is discounting what they are capable of doing. As a result, these students have become more confident, more mobile and more self-sufficient. Ms. Musick does all of this with a smile on her face and a positive attitude. She is truly an amazing paraprofessional and is helping her students to be prepared to exceed not only in school but in life.

Ms. Musick was honored with the system Apple Award plaque, a goody bag and a plant from Mountain Oak Florist, a business partner for Carroll County Schools.
