Superintendent Cowart Honored by Senator David Purdue’s Office

Mr. Scott K. Cowart was recently recognized for being named Georgia Superintendent of the Year by United States Senator, David A Perdue. On December 11, 2015, Evan Karanovich, State Field Director for Senator Purdue, visited the Carroll County Board of Education and presented Superintendent Cowart with a Certificate of Special Recognition and a congratulatory letter from Senator Purdue. The letter highlighted that Mr. Cowart’s leadership “has and will continue to have a positive impact on the lives of [Carroll County] students, parents, staff, and the entire community as a whole.” The letter further stated that Senator Purdue would be supporting Superintendent Cowart’s efforts at the national superintendent’s competition. Superintendent Cowart was nominated by the Georgia School Boards Association and the Georgia School Superintendents Association to compete for the 2016 National Superintendent of the Year, which will be announced February 2016.
