The Fairfield Kiwanis, the Spade and Trowel Garden Club of Carrollton, Bay Springs Middle School, and The City of Carrollton Parks and Recreation recently created an educational art exhibit for the Carrollton Greenbelt. Local artist, Helen Helwig, contacted Bay Springs art teacher, Darlene Stobaugh, regarding the art exhibit on the Green Belt. City of Carrollton Facility and Parks Maintenance - Division Superintendent, Kent Johnston wanted an educational display to inform Green Belt riders and walkers about snakes they might see along the Green Belt or near the pond at Hobbs Farm. Mrs. Stobaugh submitted a drawing and proposal to Kent Johnston at the City Parks and Recreation. Mr. Johnston loved the idea and agreed to work with Mrs. Stobaugh on the display and installation once the project was complete.

Mrs. Stobaugh and Helen Helwig secured financial sponsorships from Fairfield Kiwanis and The Spade and Trowel Club of Carrollton. The mosaics were made by Bay Springs teachers Karen Little, Cindy Minish, volunteer Toni Johnson, Kiwanis representative Mike Larson, Bay Springs Builder's Club and art students. Once complete, Kent Johnston and his team built the kiosk and installed the mosaics at Hobbs Farm at the end of September 2015.

Bay Springs students who were in art class the second semester of 2015 made pieces for the mosaic. The Builder's club at Bay Springs also made pieces and glazed most of them. The art club made pieces and did some glazing and organizing. The Art and Builder's clubs helped arrange the pieces on the concrete boards.
