Sharp Creek Elementary Schools Grandparent's Day Event

The most important criterion for success in the early elementary years is success in reading. On Friday, September 11, 2015 Sharp Creek Elementary School celebrated their annual Grandparent’s Day by focusing on Literacy. There were 67 grandparents that attended the event. Teachers from Pre-K to 5 th grade taught outstanding lessons based on literacy. These lessons and activities gave insight to the grandparents on activities that they could use at home to work with their grandchild/grandchildren.

There were many outstanding comments made from the grandparents as they prepared to leave the event, for example: “I never knew I could learn so much about literacy.” “The teachers were outstanding.” “I would like to see more workshops on reading.” “I had a great time.” “Thank you so much for inviting us to come out.”
