2015 "Yes I Can" Awards Ceremony

On March 24, 2015, The Exceptional Children’s Services Department of Carroll County Schools held the 4th annual “Yes I Can” awards ceremony at Midway Baptist Church. The Council for Exceptional Children started this event in 1981 to acknowledge the achievements of children/youth with disabilities; to overcome barriers caused by public misconceptions; to encourage children/youth with disabilities to seek their highest potential; and to increase public awareness of the abilities, aspirations and personal qualities of people with disabilities. On Tuesday evening, students of all ages from all schools in Carroll County were recognized for their individual accomplishments. Special professional and student awards included:

  •  Art Contest Winners - Cason Morehead and Cole Allen from Central High School
  •  Community Service Award - Scott and Tina Broome from Barnes Store
  •  ECS Professional of the Year Award - Lesley Greene from Central Elementary School
  •  ECS Outstanding Educator of the Year Award - Candace Chadwick from PALS
