Temple High School Celebrates Grand Opening of Athletic Complex

Temple High School celebrated the opening of the new Temple High School Athletic Complex Tuesday, March, 24th. The program consisted of a dedication ceremony followed by the first pitch for baseball and first volley for tennis. The dedication part of the ceremony was opened by senior athlete, Joel Cooper, followed by Mrs. Karen Suddeth, principal, who delivered a message to the gathered crowd. The first pitch was done by the three senior members of the baseball team, Joel Cooper, Cason Ransom, Justin Morris, who threw the balls to honorary bat boys from Temple Cluster feeder schools. The first volley was conducted by senior Morgan Durham as she served to honorary ball girls who were also from the cluster feeder schools. Aerial pictures of Temple High School showing the decades of changes on the campus were on display for visitors to view. Special guests included Mrs. Sandra Morris, board member; Mr. Scott Cowart, superintendent; and Mr. Tommy Lee, commissioner. The new Temple School Athletic Complex features a baseball field, softball field, four tennis courts, concession stand area, and a batting cage facility. Southern A&E, Sports Turf, and Parks Construction worked to develop and construct the complex.
