Carroll County Names New Assistant Superintendent and Director of Transportation

Carroll County School System Board of Education approved Mr. Terry Jones as the new Assistant Superintendent of Administration and Support Services and Mr. Bruce Tidaback as the new Director of Transportation at a called board meeting on Friday, March 6, 2015. Mr. Terry Jones, a former teacher and football coach, assistant principal, principal, and Director of Education for Carroll County will be taking over the leadership of Administration and Support Services for the district. Mr. Bruce Tidaback, a former teacher, assistant principal, and Principal, will be taking over leadership of Transportation Department.

Mr. Jones earned his Bachelor's degree from Newberry College and his Masters and Specialist degree from West Georgia College. Mr. Jones started his education career as a teacher and assistant football coach at Temple High School. In 1998, he moved to Villa Rica High School as the Assistant Principal before moving to Central High School as Assistant Principal in 1999. In 2000, he was named Principal of Central Middle School. Mr. Terry Jones was appointed as the Director of Middle and High School Instruction at the District Level in 2008.

Mr. Tidaback earned his Bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University, and his Masters and Ed.S. degree from the University of West Georgia. Mr. Tidaback started his education career as a teacher at Bay Springs Middle School in 1998. In 2001, he moved to Temple Middle School as the Assistant Principal. Mr. Tidaback was appointed and has served as Principal at Bay Springs Middle School since 2003.

Carroll County Superintendent, Scott Cowart, said the system is fortunate to have two quality leaders taking over these district level responsibilities. Both of these leaders bring experience, passion and a commitment to the students of Carroll County to their new positions.

Mr. Jones and his wife Kim have one child, Keely (22). Mr. Tidaback and his wife Christina have two children, Justin (16) and Taylor (18).
