STAR Students and Teachers Recognized at Chamber Membership Breakfast

The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce hosted the 2015 STAR Student/Teacher Achievement Recognition awards program at the February membership breakfast held at The Burson Center. The local Chamber has co-hosted this program with the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) for more than 50 years. The event recognizes high school seniors with the highest SAT scores, and the teacher each student chose as having the most influence in their academic development.

During the STAR ceremony, students from the Carroll County School System were recognized. The honorees, their teachers and parents, and school administrators were presented by Carroll County School Superintendent Scott Cowart.

STAR honorees from the Carroll County School System include Bowdon High School student Jessie Moore and her teacher Kim Whitman; Central High School student Scott Anderson and his teacher Dr. Cynthia Beers; Mt. Zion High School student Ingrid Pritchett and her teacher Nancy Monroe; Temple High School student Zhuo “Martin” Ma and his teacher R.K. “Rocky” White; and Villa Rica High School student Lillie Robinson and her teacher Cynthia Kruger.
