Central High School Student Selected to Serve on State Advisory Council

State School Superintendent Richard Woods has selected Central High School sophomore Anya Dunn to serve on the 2015 Student Advisory Council. Anya was chosen to be part of the 64 member Student Advisory Council from over 1,000 applicants. Throughout this next year the council will meet with Superintendent Woods to discuss the impact of state policies in the classroom. Members of the council will also discuss other issues related to education and serve as the Superintendent’s ambassadors to their respective schools. “Being selected for the Student Advisory Council is a tremendous honor for Anya and for our school. We are proud to send one of our best students to work with State Superintendent Woods,” said Central High School Principal Mr. Jared Griffis.

Anya Dunn is the first Central High School student selected to serve on the Student Advisory Council. She is an active member of the Marching Pride Band where she serves as an officer and plays the flute. In addition, Anya was elected to serve as her class treasurer. She is a member of Beta Club and enjoys community service projects.
