Villa Rica Middle School Wrestling Finishes Third at MS Championship

On Saturday, January 17th , Mt. Zion Middle School hosted the West Georgia Small School Division Wrestling Championship. Villa Rica Middle School’s Team, coached by Alex Michechione and Bruce Yarbrough, won eight individual medals. Caleb Yarbrough 98#, Tyler Frazier 120#, Christian Farmer 136#, Cameron Chism 265# all won 1st place gold medals for their weight classes. Luis Melendez 128# and Devonte Willis 200# both won 2nd place silver medals. Forrest Blair 84# and Paul Hurtado 105# both won 3rd place bronze medals. For the "B" bracket, Dylan Beal 91# came in 1st place, Hayden Pritchett 105# came in 2nd place, and our first female wrestler, Michelle Hurtado 136# came in 3rd place. Overall, the Villa Rica Middle Wrestling Team’s total points earned them 3rd place in the competition. Congratulations VRMS Wrestling team!
