Mt. Zion Wrestling Team Captures Area Title

Mt. Zion advanced to the Elite 8 in Single A wrestling by capturing the Area 3A Title this past Saturday at the area duals tournament hosted by Mt Zion. The Eagles clinched the title by first defeating the Walker School and then defeating the Trion Bulldogs in an extremely tight match 32-27. Those wrestlers who scored victories for the Eagles in the dual against Trion were Que Beasley(106), Hunter Smith(120), Cal Helton(132), Dillon Lovell(138), Efren Valles(152), Ben Sizemore(195) and Daniel Anderson(220). The Eagles will wrestle St. Francis at 8AM Friday morning in the 1st round of the Single A state Tournament in Macon.
