Bowdon Cluster Schools Win 1st Place at West Georgia Regional Technology Fair

The West Georgia Regional Technology Fair was held in Newnan, Georgia on Friday, January 9, 2015. The Bowdon Schools Cluster entered 13 different teams. Six of the teams won first place and will advance to the state competition in March. The Bowdon Cluster includes the following teams:

Animated Graphic Design- Bryson Adams and Ellen Powell who placed second and third place in the third/fourth grade division

Digital Photography- Naomi Kent placed first and Analisa Silva placed second in the third/fourth grade competition, and Zachery McEwen placed first in the fifth/sixth grade division.

Digital Video Production- William Reading and Laci Thompson placed first in the fifth/sixth grade division.

Multimedia Application-Jade Thompson and Brock Campbell placed fourth in the third/fourth grade division.

In the Robotics division, Will Rainwater and Asher Christopher placed second. Jade Thompson and Analisa Silva placed third in the third/fourth grade division. Carter Powell and Luke Rainwater placed first. Kizaiah Wilson and Braxton Morton placed second in the fifth/sixth grade division. In the seventh/eighth grade Eli Robinson and Luke Wilson placed first for Robotics.

Hardware- Harrison Rogers placed first in the seventh/eighth grade.

Technology Literacy Challenge, Ellen Powell placed second in the third/fourth division. Carter Powell placed second and William Reading placed third in the fifth/sixth grade division.

The first place winners in each division will compete at the state technology fair in Macon, Georgia, on March 7, 2015. Community support has been key to helping Bowdon be successful with their technology efforts. Community volunteers include Stacie Gann, Hunter Sharpton, Dalton Cooley, Steven Casey and Kathy Jenkins. The Bowdon cluster educator sponsors include: Nikki Ethridge, Edith Sullivan, Laurie Silfee, Mandy Cardell, Kristy Royer, Krystal Grizzard, Joseph Benefield and Ronda Stapleton.
