Glanton-Hindsman Elementary hosted Magical Math Night, a Title I Math Night, on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. More than 140 students, parents, and staff members participated in an evening of hands-on math and technology experiences. Students and family members participated together as they rotated between creative and entertaining math activities appealing to multiple age levels. Some of the activities included QR Code Scavenger Hunt, Representing Magical Numbers, Area Robots, and iPad Splash Math.

The purpose of Magical Math Night and other curriculum events sponsored by the school is to engage families in Common Core Standards in action. Research reflects the power of family interaction, as well as the importance of extended learning experiences beyond the school day. GlantonHindsman Elementary sponsors multiple Title I Parent Participation Nights throughout the school year. Upcoming parent participation events at Glanton-Hindsman Elementary School include a Literacy Night – January 22, 2015 and Multicultural Night – March 5, 2015.
