Mt. Zion Elementary School Teachers Attend GAETC

Mt. Zion Elementary School teachers recently attended the GaETC (Georgia Educational Technology Conference) in Atlanta. Tiffany Harrell (3rd grade teacher), Charlene Rogers (kindergarten teacher), Stephanie Sharpton (first grade teacher), Cheryl Watkins (fourth grade teacher), and Tena Musick (assistant principal) gained valuable information about technology use in schools at the three day conference. Mt. Zion Elementary School is enriched with technology, allowing students and teachers in all grade levels to use technology daily in class.

Tiffany Harrell, a Class DOJO Mentor Teacher, also presented on Class DOJO at the conference. Class DOJO is a free behavior management online tool that allows teachers to use real time feedback loops to recognize and reinforce student behavior. Class DOJO allows students to generate their own avatar and automatically generates reports that can be shared with parents. Mrs. Harrell and other teachers at MZE use Class DOJO to create a more positive learning environment in the classroom and communicate with parents about student achievement and behavior.
