Mt. Zion Middle School Participates in Millennial Money Outreach Program

Members of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and the 8th grade students of Mt. Zion Middle School celebrated American Enterprise Day by participating in Millennial Money, a financial literacy student outreach group sponsored by the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA). American Enterprise Day was established by President Carter in 1980 to celebrate the country’s free enterprise system. Mrs. Joyce Kruse, a member of GSCPA, spoke with the 8th grade student body about the basics of investing, saving, and budgeting, as well as tips to use credit wisely in the future. Mrs. Kruse shared with students her success as a Certified Public Accountant and suggested that students “pay themselves first” by saving a portion of their birthday and Christmas money. Mrs. Tewanna Brown is the Mt. Zion Middle School Business & Computer Science teacher and FBLA sponsor.
