Georgia School Bus Safety Poster Contest Winner

The National Association for Pupil Transportation sponsors the Georgia School Bus Safety Poster Contest. The purpose of the contest is to motivate students to understand school bus safety using the creative art talent of students. The 2014 poster contest theme is “Be Smart - Be Seen, I wait in a safe place!”. This project, supported by the Georgia Department of Education, helps students learn about school bus safety and reminds motorists of the important role they play in obeying the law, in stopping for Georgia’s school buses and protecting students as they board and exit.

Sarah Kay, student at Bay Springs Middle School, was the 2014 Georgia School Bus Safety Poster Contest third place winner within Carroll County Schools division. Sarah’s teacher is Mrs. Georgia D. Stobaugh. This is the second year in a row that a student and teacher from Bay Springs Middle School have placed third in the state. Sarah was presented a $5o check along with her recognition.
