Central High School Softball Players Sign College Scholarships

Three Central High School softball players have signed athletic scholarships to continue their softball careers at the college level. Aubrey Bennett and Taylor Funk signed with Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky. Hayley Sims signed with Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama.

Hayley, Taylor and Aubrey have been a driving force behind the success of the Central High School softball team over the last four years. In 2013 the softball team finished second in the state and in 2014 the team won the region championship and finished third the state.

The Central High School softball team is coached by Mr. David McKenna and Mr. Kyle McCarty. Present during the signing were family members, the entire Central High School softball team, administrators, and their former coach, Mr. Jimmy LeBlanc.
