Sharp Creek Elementary Participated in Showcase of Talents

On October 22, 2014, Sharp Creek Elementary was one of four elementary schools that participated in the Showcase of Talents during the Governor’s Red Ribbon Campaign kickoff at the Mable House Barnes amphitheater. Area youth showcased their artistic talents and a featured expanded visual arts walk that demonstrated that “Real Life is Drug Free.” The Sharp Creek Chorus performed by singing “Drug Free Me” and listened to motivational speakers, Miss Georgia-Maggie Bridges, and Braves pitcher, David Hale.

The kickoff featured an opportunity for students of all ages, Georgia colleges and community-based organizations to showcase their talents with the goal of bringing awareness to fun, safe activities that are positive alternatives to substance use and abuse.
