Villa Rica Middle School Charters New FBLA Chapter

Villa Rica Middle School chartered a new chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) in August 2014. The new chapter currently has 15 members. The fifteen members are Taylor Haney, Donald Howard, Takyra Johnson, Ben Moffitt, Jillian Moore, Madison Moore, Tobi Okegbenro, Christopher Powell, Hayden Pritchett, Zack Sarver, Cannon Shirley, Macie Shrewsbury, Jada Smith, Skyla Thompson, and Grace Weldon. Adviser for the chapter is Mrs. Tanya Morgan.

Nine of the VRMS FBLA members attended the FBLA Fall Rally and FBLA Day at the Georgia National Fair, Thursday October 9 in Perry, GA. The VRMS FBLA Chapter traveled with the FBLA Chapters from Temple Middle School and Mount Zion Middle School. Around 8,000 FBLA members across Georgia attended the event. During FBLA Day at the fair, FBLA members had the opportunity to compete in various events. VRMS FBLA members competed in the bulletin board contest and objective tests including marketing, parliamentary procedures, and business spelling. Results from these events will be announced within the next few weeks.

The VRMS Chapter of FBLA will attend other FBLA events throughout the year including the FBLA Fall Leadership Conference in Athens in November, the Region 7 FBLA Conference in January, and the FBLA State Leadership Conference in Perry in March. The chapter is working on many activities including fundraisers, community service projects, school service projects, national Middle Achievement Program award recognition, and preparing for an assortment of competitions.
