Sharp Creek Elementary Hosts STEM Camp

Sharp Creek Elementary hosted a STEM camp the week of June 23rd – 27thStudents participated in a design challenge by completing the task of building their own parachute. Students chose the materials needed to build a parachute that would hold a plastic animal and launch off the playground slide. The parachute had to help the animal land safely.

Students also built a marshmallow catapult and tested to see how far it would launch marshmallows. Science experiments were performed to test the density of different liquids and the result was a rainbow in a jar. Additionally, the students really enjoyed making a cloud in a jar and creating their own bouncy balls. Lots of learning and fun was had by all.
