Bowdon Elementary School Teacher Accepted in the Classroom Champions Program

Bowdon Elementary Teacher, Ronda Stapleton, has been accepted into a program called Classroom Champions which invited only about 20 teachers from the United States this year. The goal of Classroom Champion is to connect Olympic athletes with students to motivate, enhance their learning experience, set short and long term goals, recognize their own abilities and overall mentor students. The program is a kind 21st century pen-pal effort in which each athlete adopts 1-4 classrooms per year. Focusing on their own personal journey, athletes mentor students about the hard work of training, goal setting, competition and perseverance. The program supports teachers by helping them incorporate these activities into their curriculum, focusing on letter writing, reading, geography, math, technology, goal setting and leadership.
