Villa Rica Elementary School Recognizes Success of Mentor Program and Thanks Mentors

The Villa Rica Elementary School Mentor Program was established in 2010 after more than two years of research and planning efforts on behalf of the school counselor, administration, and a team of teachers dedicated to the cause. The program began with a handful of retired teachers, eagerly willing to continue making a difference in the lives of students. Instrumental in the implementation of this program were former VRE teachers, Ms. Connie Harris and Mrs. Janvier Williams, both serving as mentors and recruiters. Presently, there are a total of 13 mentors serving 14 students in VRE’s program. This group of mentors includes female and male retired teachers and other members active in their church and local communities.
