Bowdon High School Golf Team Wins Region Championship

On April 21st, the Bowdon Men’s and Women’s golf team competed at the Lion Golf Club in Bremen for the Region Championship. The Men’s team shot a team low 365 to place second in the region and competed in the class AA Sectionals this past weekend in Alma, Georgia. Team members are Griffin Cole, Levi Holt, Travis Strickland, Trevor Strickland, Amos Word and Austin Carroll.

The Women’s team also had a great day at the Region Tournament. The Devilettes edged out Bremen at their home course by 1 stroke to bring home the first region championship since the early 2000’s. The girls punched an automatic ticket to the AA state championships in Augusta Georgia by winning the crown. Team members are Anna Grizzard, Libbie Brock, Jacky Tilton and Jessi Skinner.

The golf team also had both Men’s and Women’s Low Medalist, Austin Carroll and Jacky Tilton
