College and Career Academy VEX Robotics Earns Top 10 Ranking

The College and Career Academy VEX Robotic Team recently participated in the Georgia State VEX Robotics Competition.   The team had a strong showing all day being ranked in the top 10 for the entire series of matches, peaking at 2nd place for the first 5 out 6 rounds, but falling to eighth at the end of the day.  

The team lead by a Robot Driver and Captain Dakota Malcom from Central High School was a powerhouse.  Also, 
programming by first year robot club member, Zhuo Ma from Temple High School and John Jones from Central High 
School, helped the teams robot dominate in the 15 second autonomous portion of the matches in 5 out of 6 of our 
competitions. 

The teams 12 students ranged from tenth graders through seniors, with students representing all five Carroll County 
high schools and excelled on behalf of the College and Career Academy Engineering Program.

David Green stated “I couldn't be prouder of my team, I believe I have the best students in Carroll County.  Honestly, 
I couldn't have better blend of students in my robotic team.  I am fortunate enough to have the best robot builders, 
testers, programmers, and drivers all in one group!”
