Central High School Future Business Leaders Win Region Competition

The Central High School Future Business Leaders of America Chapter was recognized last week for winning the Region 7 FBLA Championship. The Central FBLA Chapter was awarded 1st place in having the largest number of members in Region 7. The Chapter also qualified for the MONOPOLY Tournament at the State Leadership Conference. The biggest award the Chapter received was being named the Region 7 Sweepstakes winner for the 3rd year in a row. Advisors for the Central High School FBLA Chapter are Ms. Kelly Bass and Ms. Sarah Eidson.

The following students were awarded ribbons in individual competitive events. Trent Paul placed 5th in Introduction to Information Technology. Courtney Allen placed 4th in Help Desk. Savannah McWhorter and Sydney North placed 4th and 6th respectively in Introduction to Business Communications. Tucker Musick was the 2nd place winner in Computer Applications and John Jones took 2nd place in Business Plan. Individual competitors in Business Math were Dallin Anderson placing 6th, Kelsi Glover placing 8th, and Mallory Geter placing 10th. Quinn Evans placed 3rd in Future Business Leader, Caroline Conerly placed 2nd in Public Speaking II, and James Moye placed 3rd in Client Services. Raleigh Conerly placed 1st in Business Communications. She earned the second highest in the state, competing against 523 other students.

The following students received awards in team events. The team of Sierra Lackey, Darby Turner, and Abby Walls placed 3rd in Marketing. The team of James Cochran, Mary Katheryn Denmon, and Bailey Thomas placed 4th in Management Decision Making. The team of Conner Caldwell, Mitt Conerly, and Rhett Duffey placed 1st in Global Business. The team of Savannah McWhorter and Karley Runels placed 1st in Desktop Publishing. The team of Caroline Conerly, Raleigh Conerly, Quinn Evans, Sydney North, and Anna Schulenburg placed 2nd in Parliamentary Procedures. The team of Connor McCray, Alex Stewart, and Cade Wall took 1st place in Sports and Entertainment Management.
