2013 Bright Ideas Grant Winners

On Wednesday, December 18, 2013 the Carroll EMC Foundation awarded 2013 Bright Ideas grants to twenty six Carroll County School District teachers. The following teachers were awarded $21,491.71 from Bright Ideas grants: Mrs. Teresa Tipton and Mr. Brad Kingsley at Bay Springs Middle School; Mrs. Heather Mills and Mr. Jeremiah Yates at Bowdon High School; Mrs. Dana Pearce and Mrs. Sally Overmier at Central Elementary School; Mrs. Cynthia Beers, Mrs. Kelly Bass, Mrs. Jane Lyons, Mrs. Teresa Boldt and Mr. Neil Ruby at Central High School; Mrs. Heather Kinard at Ithica Elementary School; Mrs. Leslie Martin and Mrs. Melissa Tripp at Mt. Zion Elementary School; Mrs. Tiffany Head, Mrs. Mandy Payton and Mrs. JoAnna Browning at Roopville Elementary School; Mrs. Lindsay McKenzie, Mrs. Katie Watson and Mrs. Jill Powers at Sand Hill Elementary School; Mrs. Dagnah Thompson, Mr. Ray Calas, Mrs. Monica Chason and Mrs. Jessica Hok at Temple High School; Mr. Geoffrey Harden at Villa Rica Elementary School; and Mr. Daniel Roehl at Villa Rica High School.

Carroll EMC awards Bright Ideas grants to local teachers to fund innovative and creative educational projects for their students. Grants of up to $1000 are presented to public school educators, teaching grades preK through 12, for classroombased projects in a variety of subjects.

Bright Ideas grants are funded through the donations of Carroll EMC Members who participate in the
cooperative’s Operation Round Up program. Since 2007, local teachers have received grants totaling nearly $150,000 to enhance the learning of students in Carroll EMC’s sevencounty service area.
