On Tuesday, November 5, 2013, Central Middle School celebrated its recent campus construction and facilities renovations with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Superintendent Scott Cowart spoke to the large crowd, offering his thanks to the community for their support of SPLOST and noting how all students in Carroll County are benefitting from that support. Cowart also commended the CMS administration and staff for their diligence in getting the school year off to a great start, despite time restraints placed on them due to construction on campus through the last weekend of summer.

Central Middle School Principal, Glen Harding, also addressed the crowd and thanked them for coming out to help the school celebrate the event. Harding also thanked the school board and district leadership for their vision in making Carroll County Schools a premier school district. He also expressed his appreciation to J&R Construction and Southern A&E for their hard work and cooperation on the campus projects.

Leaders from the Central Middle School Fine Arts Programs, Band Director David Trumble and Chorus Director Scott Smith, thanked parents and school officials for their support of the county’s fine arts programs. The CMS Band performed two numbers and the CMS Chorus also performed at the evening’s event.

The Ribbon Cutting portion of the ceremony took place in the lobby of the newly constructed front office space at Central Middle. Included in the photograph with Superintendent Scott Cowart are administrative members of the Central Cluster. Holding the ribbon are CMS Student Council Members Rosa Nunez and Carolina Butler, while Carroll County School Board Members Denise Pate and Jon Anderson cut through the ribbon to celebrate and officially announce the campus improvements at Central Middle School.
