Villa Rica High FCCLA Wins Second Place in FCCLA Chapter Booth Event

The Villa Rica High FCCLA won second place in the FCCLA Chapter Booth Event. The display was created by chapter members and was displayed during the entire 10 days of the Georgia National Fair in Perry Georgia, October 3-13, 2013. The chapter will receive a plaque, ribbon and a $450 cash prize. This year’s booth was entitled “Discover Your Voice - Greatest Hits Tour 2013” which incorporated this year’s state and national FCCLA theme.

The booth illustrated various ways FCCLA Chapter members gain leadership skills, service learning, and recognition through FCCLA programs, projects and activities.

Vinyl records were donated by VRHS teachers Mrs. Kruger and Mrs. Conner. These were used to promote the various state and national FCCLA programs available to help members “Discover their Voice”. Frames were created to hold “Platinum” records for FCCLA’s accomplishments. Georgia FCCLA has the highest membership in the nation for the past 5 years, gave the largest state donation to “Share our Strength” at the 2013 National Leadership Conference in Nashville, TN, and the largest Alumni & Associates Membership (for adults formerly members or supporters of FHA/FCCLA) in the nation.

VRHS members that participated in the competition were: Niki Altman, Breanna Berryhill, Catlin Dodgen, Halie Newsom, Sabrina Stockton, Madison Taylor, and Shea Towler.
