Bowdon High School Student Wins The 2013 Georgia High School Rodeo State Finals In Steer Wrestling

Bowdon High School student, Jon-Taylor Ethridge, won the 2013 Georgia High School Rodeo state finals in steer wrestling at the Georgia High School Rodeo Association (GHSRA) in Perry, Georgia that took place on May 31, 2013 through June 2, 2013. This is the second consecutive year for Jon-Taylor winning the championship. He won the average by 9 hundredths of a second. Jon-Taylor was awarded the “Best Boot Forward” award from Ariat Boots for his attitude and achievement. He won a new saddle for the championship, engraved halter for the average, and new boots from Ariat.


The Georgia High School Rodeo Association is a state-wide association of high school students, grades 9 through 12, who participate in rodeos held throughout the state. The GHSRA is affiliated with the NHSRA which is comprised of 41 States, 5 Canadian Provinces and Australia.
