Carroll County Teacher Publishes Article

Mary Reid, a Pre­K teacher at Glanton­HindsmanElementary School, was recently published in the June/July 2013 issue of Teaching YoungChildren, a Journal of the National Association of Educators of Young Children. Her article “What’s Green and Hops ­ Preschoolers Make Parallel Books”, details the process she uses in her classroom to facilitate the writing process with young children. The article is an outgrowth of her work with Cherokee Rose Writing Project at the University of West Georgia and features drawings and photographs of the children in her classroom. Mrs. Reid has been an educator in
Carroll County Schools for nine years and is passionate about facilitating development of literacy skills in Pre­K students.
